Our MISSION

Energy efficiency for Maryland

The Maryland Energy Efficiency Advocates is a coalition committed to advancement of just energy and housing policies and practices that preserve and create healthy, safe, and affordable housing conditions for all people in the state of Maryland.

We take a broad focus on success of the state home energy efficiency programs, and we emphasize how they can best serve low-income communities and communities of color while aligning with the need to reduce climate pollution, improve housing conditions, and reduce energy burden. We intentionally create a space in our coalition for coordination between organizations working on policy change and those working on implementation of housing and energy programs. We work to maximize the equity improvements that can come from pursuit of state climate goals and utilization of federal investments in housing decarbonization (energy efficiency and electrification).
